Lumps of thyroid tissue in an otherwise normal gland is called a nodule. It can be single or multiple. They can be visible but sometimes not. It can be solid or cystic.Thyroiditis and cancer has to be ruled out. USG, CT scan or an MRI may need to be done along with blood tests. But Fine needle biopsy is a must to rule out cancer.
